Required Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience personally developing, implementing, or materially revising FNMC or MC&A programs for facilities handling special nuclear material. Practical knowledge of nuclear material control, accounting, measurement control, inventory management, reconciliation, records, and reporting systems. Working knowledge of 10 CFR Part 70 licensing expectations or directly transferable DOE or NNSA nuclear-material experience. Experience authoring licensing plans, program descriptions, controlled procedures, requirements, or comparable technical documents.

Ability to evaluate material in different physical states and at different points within a production process. Ability to explain the statistical and measurement methods used to establish material balances and acceptable levels of precision. Proven ability to synthesize multiple source programs and clearly resolve or document inconsistencies, gaps, and assumptions. Strong technical writing, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent directly relevant experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience with Category 1 or Category 2 fuel-cycle facilities. Experience with HALEU, uranium processing, enrichment, fuel fabrication, or TRISO fuel operations. Experience defining MC&A data-system, measurement-system, instrumentation, or facility-design requirements. Experience with in an NRC-regulated fuel-cycle facility. Relevant experience at a DOE or NNSA production facility involving nuclear material operations

Job Description The Senior Fundamental Nuclear Material Control and Material Control and Accounting Specialist will serve as the hands-on working lead for development of the FNMC and MC&A basis for a new Category 2 TRISO fuel manufacturing facility. This individual will evaluate existing plans, procedures, systems, commitments, and operating experience and convert that information into an appropriately scaled program for the new facility.

The successful candidate must understand how nuclear material control and accounting is performed in practice, including the treatment of material as inventory and in-process material, controls associated with transfers between material states, measurement precision, statistical accountability, records systems, and the use of technology to support material tracking and accounting. This person must also be able to personally author licensing and implementation documentation rather than only advising the project or managing others who produce the work.

This is 100% remote with a pay rate ranging from $90-$130/hr depending on experience.
