Job Overview

Order Selector – online order fulfillment and customer service. Responsibilities include selecting and gathering products for customers’ online orders, checking freshness and quality, assembling orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering or loading orders to customer vehicles. The role focuses on providing a positive shopping experience and upholding the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently and accurately.

Assemble online orders, process coupons and payment.

Deliver and load orders to customers’ cars when they arrive for pickup.

Provide a positive customer‑service experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to read shelf tags.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
  • Ability to meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
  • Adherence to local, state, and federal laws, food‑safety procedures, and company guidelines.
  • Receiving customers' orders from the Order Selector according to guidelines; storing products in optimal temperature zones.
  • Initiating and completing the selection process for customers' online orders.
  • Reading and following directions provided in the note section.
  • Ensuring quality and freshness of all items chosen.
  • Communicating with customers via a portable phone and responding to calls professionally and timely.
  • Retrieving each customer's order from all staging locations and ensuring order accuracy; loading order into customers' cars.
  • Processing the orders through the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
  • Following policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions if an item is out of stock.
  • Scanning and bagging orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
  • Communicating any substitutions or exceptions to the customer's order at pickup.
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
  • Reporting pricing, scanning, and item‑location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to the store e‑Commerce supervisor.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying the store e‑Commerce supervisor or other store management of items in need of repair.
  • Performing required opening and closing procedures.
  • Learning and adapting to new and improved processes.
  • Assisting in training new e‑Commerce team members.
  • Meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Providing support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
