Responsibilities- Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products.
- Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget.
- Evaluate departmental conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement and develop improved practices and procedures.
- Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained.
- Correctly order, receive, unload, and store bakery products.
- Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays.
- Manage department inventory, in‑stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards.
- Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions; recommend merit increases via bi‑annual performance reviews.
- Attend and participate in in‑store meetings.
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Address team member concerns using independent judgment.
- Take and document corrective actions when needed in collaboration with business and HR partners.
- Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels for maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
- Serve as a key carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty when needed.
- At least 18 years old with a minimum of 2 years of retail grocery experience.
- Dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that includes night, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
- Good communication skills and the ability to give and receive direction in a team environment.
- Able to answer phones and take special orders.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas.
- Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; accurately weigh and label products.
- Stand for up to 3 hours continuously for an 8‑hour shift; transfer trays up to 5 lbs up to 10 hours; transfer items up to 40 lbs up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
