Overview
We’re seeking a driven and relationship‑focused Sales Manager to join our team and help grow our group, meeting, and guest room business. This role is ideal for a proactive sales professional who thrives on building client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering exceptional service aligned with a luxury hospitality experience.
Responsibilities- Achieve or exceed established booking goals for guest room and group revenue while maintaining budgeted costs.
- Negotiate individual functions within approved guidelines to support overall revenue objectives.
- Respond promptly to all sales inquiries within the business day and ensure accurate, efficient handling of paperwork and event confirmations.
- Research and compile prospective client lists using business directories, publications, and other lead‑generation sources.
- Solicit new and repeat group, meeting, and guest room business.
- Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and convention clients while assessing needs, confirming space availability, and coordinating event details.
- Conduct outside sales calls, telemarketing efforts, site inspections, and on‑property client engagements to secure business.
- Maintain active awareness of the competitive landscape through industry networking and professional associations.
- Monitor competitor pricing, service offerings, and event activity to ensure the hotel remains competitively positioned.
- Evaluate potential business opportunities for profitability and overall value to the hotel.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge and the ability to upsell clients while delivering service consistent with the hotel’s luxury standards.
- Prepare accurate sales contracts, group resumes, and event documentation to ensure all departments clearly understand client expectations.
- Review all function orders prior to distribution.
- Collaborate with the Group Housing Coordinator to monitor group progress, including rooming lists, pickup, and cutoff dates, to maximize occupancy.
- Send timely post‑event “thank you” notes and follow up on any client concerns to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Participate in relevant associations, networking events, trade shows, and sales trips locally and beyond to expand market reach.
- Maintain communication with historical and lapsed clients to reestablish relationships and generate repeat business.
- Provide on‑site support for banquet functions, greeting clients and introducing the service team to ensure a seamless event experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Minimum 1 year of hotel or relevant experience in group sales and/or servicing groups and/or detailing events
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s License and a clean driving record
- Must have a vehicle and valid insurance
- CI/TY knowledge is a plus
