Jacobs is growing our Albuquerque team to support a newly awarded environmental program with one of the world's largest companies. We're looking for Environmental Geologists or Environmental Scientists with approximately 5 to 7 years of experience who are ready for more responsibility and the opportunity to accelerate their career.

We’re seeking an Environmental Scientist or Geologist with experience in environmental site characterization, field investigation, and remediation to support our growing

New Mexicoupstream oil and gas asset-retirement program and other environmental projects for government and global private-sector clients.

Based out of the Albuquerque area, you'll serve as a task lead and field team lead on environmental site characterization and remediation projects while working alongside industry-leading experts. Whether your goal is to advance toward project management, technical leadership, or both, you'll gain the experience, mentorship, and project exposure needed to get there.

You'll collaborate with scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on complex environmental projects. Responsibilities may include designing, performing, and overseeing soil, soil vapor, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigations; coordinating and managing fieldwork logistics; leading field teams; analyzing and interpreting environmental data; preparing technical reports; monitoring; and supporting remediation efforts.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, or other closely related degree.
  • Approximately 5to 7 years of professional experience delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects.
  • Experience with environmental field investigations.
  • Experience leading field teams, project tasks, or technical work efforts.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate environmental data and technical findings.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to working safely and protecting subcontractors, coworkers, clients, and the public.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or the ability toattainthis certification.
  • Valid driver's license
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
  • Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, or other closely related degree.
  • Professional registration (e.g., Professional Geologist) or intent to obtain andmaintainprofessional certification.
  • Experience supporting upstream oil and gas investigation, remediation, decommissioning, or asset-retirement activities.
  • Familiarity with New Mexico OCD requirements for site assessment, remediation, well plugging, facility decommissioning, reclamation, and closure associated with upstream oil and gas assets.
  • Experience serving as a task lead, field team lead, or technical lead on environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, regulators, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail when conducting fieldwork and evaluating data.
  • Interest in advancing toward project management, technical leadership, or both.
