This position is a Pay Band C2

To manage its situations in such a way that it minimizes any possibilities of injury to clients, staff and other persons visiting the premises as well as provide security, loss control, and protection to the Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center (SATC) in Albuquerque, NM.

• Conduct searches of new admissions, clients and visitors to prevent contraband from entering SATC.
• Check all buildings and ensure they are properly secured (all windows closed, doors locked, and lights off during non-working hours) for SATC.
• Enforce SATC policies and procedures.
• Provide assistance with maintaining resident to staff ratios.
• Assist staff members with combative residents using CPI techniques.
• Follow walk away policies and procedures and coordinate searches with staff and law enforcement agencies.
• Conduct room searches per schedule and upon request.
• Monitor traffic flow, parking and follow traffic control policy.
• Check all fire extinguishers monthly and report all deficiencies to their immediate supervisor and log on to the Fire Extinguisher Check List.
• Respond to all fire alarms activated and report any deficiencies.
• Prepare reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.

Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression.

• Experience working in a residential treatment facility.
• Experience working in a therapeutic milieu.
• Experience in recover-oriented and/or trauma-informed-care environments.
• Experience working with fire alarm systems.
• Experience checking fire extinguishers.
• Prior experience working as a security guard.

Eighth grade education.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. This position will perform work in both indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to potential hazards that may include but are not limited to, dealing with trespassers, vandals, and/or unruly clients. This position may require extended periods of walking and standing.
