Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Air Force Special Access Program (SAP) Security Support Services (SSS) assists the AF cognizant security authority in oversight of enhanced National Security Objectives supporting AF SAP interests through active and integrated security operations, processes, mechanisms, and management. This support provides multi-disciplinary security support, including specialized analytical/program protection support, while being responsive and flexible to dynamic SAP security situations.
The Construction Surveillance Technician's primary function is to provide day‑to‑day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) construction efforts. Duties include the following:
- Assess, identify and communicate recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
- Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
- Draft security incident reports and brief government and civilian agencies including military senior leaders.
- Manage uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assign, train, brief site security duties and ensure timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
- Follow and enforce customers' Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative.
- Conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
- Photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps in order to support final accreditation packets.
- 1–2 years of related experience.
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
- Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.
- Bachelor's degree is desired and counts towards 4 years of experience. Associate’s degree counts towards 2 years of experience.
- Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (e.g., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
- Must obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course completion within the first 30 days of hire.
- Desired experience:
Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements).
