Construction Surveillance Technician I
As a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a CST joining our team to provide security support to the Department of the Air Force.
The CST's primary function is to provide day to day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program (SAP) construction efforts.
In this role you will…- Assess, identify and communicate recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
- Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
- Draft security incident reports and briefs government and civilian agencies including military senior leaders.
- Manage uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assign, train, brief site security duties and ensure timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
- Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative.
- Conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
- Photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps in order to support final accreditation packets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 1–2 years related experience.
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
- Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.
- Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area OR Associate’s degree in a related area + 2 years’ experience OR equivalent experience (4 years).
- Must complete the DoD SAPCO approved SAPNP training (if performing personnel security functions).
- Secret Security Clearance required.
- Must be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI with a CI polygraph.
- Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings.
- May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time.
- Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- All Level I & Level II positions - candidate should possess some Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
- All Level III positions - candidate should possess 2+ years of Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
