A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). They will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives. The Unarmed Flex Security Officer position provides trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes, enabling Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers while protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

• Must have Level I New Mexico Guard card.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be available to work as a Flex officer (all shifts, all days of the week, including weekends and holidays).
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.

• You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
• Your schedule will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available.
• Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice to cover.
• You are expected to work any shift you are scheduled in advance that falls within your availability. If you will be unavailable, communicate with your supervisor.
• For short‑notice call‑ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts called. Refuse more than 20% and it could negatively affect employment status.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Level I New Mexico Security License.
