MTSI is searching for a senior Systems Security/Information Assurance/Program Protection Support professional to support development of first‑of‑kind space vehicles and missions. This handpicked candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with developing, designing, building, integrating and transitioning space hardware and software.
In this position, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO). The Space RCO program office, located at Kirtland AFB, NM and is one of three US Space Force acquisition organizations and is the one specializing in delivering first‑of systems to fill quick‑turn needs to deliver operational capability to the USSF. For each project, Space RCO sets up small, agile, and empowered teams to include program manager, technical specialists, contracting, finance, security, and use the right acquisition strategies to set the effort up for success.
A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high‑performing team in a high‑profile, fast‑paced environment.
Systems Security/Information Assurance/Program Protection Support Principal Duty
You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program. SETA responsibilities span technology domains including space rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in an extremely fast‑paced, responsive development environment. This SETA candidate will provide in‑depth background on system security, information assurance, and program protection to improve program office insight into state‑of‑the‑art commercial and legacy mission systems, and C2 requirements and capabilities.
You must apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.
- Serves as program advisor through the Engineering division to assigned Space RCO programs on security/IA/program protection matters
- Provides complex and critical technical guidance and support to the Space RCO SAPMO IAW DoW Space Policy, DoW Dep Sec Def initiatives, DoW and DAF SAPCO policies to ensure the Space RCO acquisition portfolio complies with regulatory guidance.
- Engages with intelligence community for relative products and information that influences or impacts security of the Space RCO portfolio.
- Participates in developing, administering, and monitoring security compliance requirements for Space RCO. Furnishes guidance necessary to ensure the required safeguarding and proper handling of classified and sensitive information in accordance with DoW policy and regulations.
- Represents organization with DoW, DAF, various Field Commands, and working groups. Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with these organizations.
- Reviews and provide guidance related to security incidents and coordinate recommended course of action through PSO
- Validates and assess training and oversight requirements, establish program and organizational objectives, monitor progress, assess achievements, analyze problems and develop timely, economical and innovative education and training program solutions.
- Advisor for SCG development and updates, assist with staffing through stakeholders and DAF process through to OCA(s), as well as provide guidance on marking, safeguarding, and all other aspects of Information Security associated with the technical aspects of the Space RCO program portfolio.
- Reviews, analyzes, and assesses systems configurations/architectures to identify security, safety, and mission critical functions/components and critical program information (CPI)
- Develops System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTMs), Security Classification Guides (SCGs), and Program Protection Plans
