Overview
MTSI is searching for a senior Systems Security / Information Assurance / Program Protection Support professional to support development of first‑of‑kind space vehicles and missions. The candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with developing, designing, building, integrating, and transitioning space hardware and software.
In this position you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) located at Kirtland AFB, NM. The Space RCO is a US Space Force acquisition organization that specializes in delivering systems to fill quick‑turn needs and deliver operational capability to the USSF.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as program advisor through the Engineering division to assigned Space RCO programs on security/IA/program protection matters.
- Provide complex and critical technical guidance and support to the Space RCO SAPMO in accordance with DoW Space Policy, DoW Dep Sec Def initiatives, DoW, and DAF SAPCO policies to ensure the acquisition portfolio complies with regulatory guidance.
- Engage with intelligence community for products and information that influence or impact security of the Space RCO portfolio.
- Participate in developing, administering, and monitoring security compliance requirements for Space RCO, furnishing guidance to ensure safeguarding and proper handling of classified and sensitive information per DoW policy and regulations.
- Represent the organization with DoW, DAF, various Field Commands, and working groups; establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with these organizations.
- Review and provide guidance related to security incidents and coordinate recommended course of action through PSO.
- Validate and assess training and oversight requirements; establish program and organizational objectives; monitor progress, assess achievements, analyze problems and develop timely, economical and innovative education and training program solutions.
- Act as advisor for SCG development and updates, assist with staffing through stakeholders and the DAF process through to OCA(s), and provide guidance on marking, safeguarding, and all aspects of information security associated with the Space RCO program portfolio.
- Review, analyze, and assess system configurations/architectures to identify security, safety, and mission‑critical functions/components and critical program information (CPI).
- Develop System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTMs), Security Classification Guides (SCGs), and Program Protection Plans.
- Support security and IA monitoring plans across multiple architectures, systems, or families of systems.
- Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
- Provide detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization, development and/or maintenance efforts for client‑specific or mission‑critical challenges/issues.
- Coordinate with external agencies, including operational units, higher headquarters, Combatant Command (CCMD) staffs, other acquisition activities, and research and development functions.
- Support acquisition planning and development of documents required for system security/IA/program protection area.
- Draft, review, and edit required reports, documents, and briefings.
- Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience.
- Experience with MAJCOM/Field Command staff level or higher.
- Experience and understanding of CFC processes.
- Expert understanding of the Command and Control/Kill chain dynamics.
- Experience with system security, information assurance, and program protection plans.
- Experience in DoD acquisition program office including program development and transition.
- Understanding of operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
- Knowledge of space system engineering, development, and manufacturing.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately within and outside the organization.
