Crime Gun Intelligence Center Coordinator
Coordinate the processing of firearms and firearm components in support of the Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) process. Perform physical inspections of various firearms to collect data for verification, testing, and tracking. Test fire various firearms to collect physical evidence for data analysis. Support and enter information into the eTrace database. Conduct and support eTrace investigations for firearm ownership. Work with the CGIC team and support the cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice; and Three (3) years of experience in maintaining records and performing data entry. Experience in a scientific laboratory preferred. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire. Successful completion of the APD Firearms Safety Course within six (6) months from date of hire.

Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for light lifting, walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
