SummaryEnforces and maintains security measures and requirements for the protection of all organizational facilities, material and personnel within area of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft or intentional destruction. Operates communication console and surveillance equipment in Security Operations Center. Dispatches activities of emergency response personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities- Under direct supervision performs assigned security tasks form detailed instructions, established policies and procedures.
- Provides security protection and surveillance for all organizational facilities, material and personnel within areas of responsibilities to preclude unauthorized access, theft or intentional destruction.
- Identifies, initiates and coordinates appropriate response/notification based on console indications or event(s) and according to security guidelines.
- Provides first point of contact for situations involving employee injury, off-site facilities, emergency responders and medical services.
- Respond to protective alarm signals or other unusual/suspicious activities.
- Performs escort duties while ensuring all escorted personnel follow area security and safety requirements.
- Provides security protection for classified material within areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all security orders (special, general, post) pertaining to assigned duties as well as working knowledge of applicable federal/state laws.
- Protects the organization's physical asset by maintaining and safeguarding the physical perimeter, exterior/interior perimeters of the facility.
- May perform other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must meet DOE medical and physical fitness standards and comply with all applicable legal statutes
- Must maintain a valid state driver's license
- Must be able to perform duties wearing personal protective equipment
- Ability to be on-call after hours and during holidays
- Ability to and willingness to perform shift work
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to work on site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- At least one year of security or public safety related work experience
- Knowledge of security systems, devices, and building automation systems in a corporate environment preferred.

We are required by the Department of Energy (DOE) to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review, including checks of references, credit, law enforcement records and employment/education history. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Dual citizenship may affect clearance eligibility.
