Position Summary:
Assist with supervision of Parking and Transportation department, monitor and provide security for parking areas patients, employees, and visitors in hospital parking areas. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
- * SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
- * ADMINISTRATION - Perform various administrative functions such as monitoring expenditures and preparing reports and correspondence; may participate in a variety of research projects to develop service plans; may propose changes to program policies and procedures
- * WORK ENVIRONMENT - Maintain area and storage area in clean and orderly fashion
- * SUPERVISION - Supervise assigned personnel, ensuring that assigned functions are completed expediently and accurately
- * KNOWLEDGE - Possess and maintain a working knowledge of the functions of the department, the facility as whole, and applicable policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment
- * PROCEDURES & REGS - Maintain complete awareness of responsibilities concerning current fire and disaster procedures; maintain complete awareness and compliance with all safety regulations
- * PARKING - Provide parking control as assigned to include monitoring and removing unauthorized vehicles in patient or employee parking areas, fire lanes, reserved areas and all restricted areas
- * SAFETY/SECURITY - Respond to any situation that may present a safety hazard or risk to people and property
- * SUPERVISION - Delegate and monitor the completion of assigned duties, according to dept and hospital policies
- * TRAINING - Provide training and orientation for new employees
- * ROLE MODEL - Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment
- * INTERVIEW - Participate in new-hire interviews
- * COMMUNICATION - Act as a liaison between staff, patients, and visitors to promote and facilitate communication, problem solving, decision making, crisis intervention, and conflict management; refers individuals to appropriate resources
- * REPORTS - Prepare periodic reports for administration as required
- * CUSTOMER RELATIONS - Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and Hospitals employees
Education:

- * High School or GED Equivalent
Experience:

3 years directly related experience
Nonessential:
Security experience in a hospital setting Supervisory experience Experience with Power Park database or equivalent
Credentials:
Essential:
- * Valid New Mexico Driver's License
- * UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w/in 60 days
Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work:
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
