This Role

Fiber Tel, LLC is hiring an Aerial Laborer for our Albuquerque, NM location.

What You’ll Do
  • Support all phases of utility construction for telecom projects, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of materials and equipment.
  • Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery as directed by the foreman/supervisor.
  • Hand dig using shovel or mechanical tools, install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling, and work in congested or remote areas.
  • Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and other personnel to ensure safe coordination.
  • Perform general construction work, support the operator/foreman, set up, prepare, and clean construction sites.
  • Learn crew operations, assist the operator, and understand buried utilities.
  • Lift heavy equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities

All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to tasks listed above.

Qualifications
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Valid driver’s license or willing to obtain the required license.
  • Good driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of utility trucks, equipment, and hand tools; ability to operate safely.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
  • Effective communication with customers and employees.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications.
  • Ability to perform all duties in telecommunication construction.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
Working Conditions

This is a full‑time hourly position, working at least 40 hours per week in an outdoor environment exposed to varying weather conditions and terrain. The role may involve exposure to natural gas, electrical shock, and moderate to loud noise.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours), lift 75 pounds, tolerate extreme weather, read and understand safety instructions, and perform repetitive actions such as lifting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
