Position Overview
Responsible for performing routine facility maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing). Perform general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures such as wall switches, outlets, bulbs, ballast, sockets, fuses, kitchen appliances, cords, etc., using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility support equipment.
- Perform minor carpentry repairs, including sheetrock.
- Perform minor to moderate plumbing repairs and replacements, including leak repairs, unclogging toilets, and sink work.
- Complete work orders efficiently and on time.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and systems.
- Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns, or loss of property promptly to supervisor.
- Enter preventive maintenance records into the assigned database.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC techniques and systems.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to hear clearly voices, alarms, bells, and horns (at least 85 dB) and speak clearly and audibly.
- Ability to understand and follow simple written and oral directions.
- Ability to take direction from multiple supervisory staff.
- Ability to use hand and power tools common to the construction trade.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions.
- Ability to visually inspect and distinguish colors.
- Familiar with standard construction industry practices and safe tool/equipment operation.
- Maintenance skills including drywall, fixture repair, painting, ceiling tile replacement, minor furniture repair.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently with machinery.
- Minimum two years of prior experience preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certificates in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or related field are a plus.
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.
Regularly required to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear. May require work inside or outside the building as needed by events.
