The University of New Mexico is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrician 2 to join our Facility Services team.

In this essential role, you'll help power the campus by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems that support learning, research, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrician 2, you will:

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers.
• Lay out and install new electrical secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches.
• Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective parts such as brushes and armatures.
• Install and maintain motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers.
• Interpret blueprints and work from sketches or verbal instructions.
• Install grounding leads and ensure compliance with safety and electrical codes.
• Use diagnostic tools to test and repair circuits, equipment, and appliances.
• Perform inspections and monitor performance of installed electrical systems.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Additionally, this position is subject to overtime and on-call assignments, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support campus operations.
