This is a full-time, on-site Installation Technician role based in Las Cruces, NM. The Installation Technician will install, configure, and maintain two-way radio systems, public safety vehicle packages, cabling, and related communication equipment at customer locations and company facilities. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical diagrams, performing equipment mounting and wiring in vehicles and buildings, and conducting functional tests to ensure reliable operation.
The role involves diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, documenting work performed, and collaborating with team members to meet project timelines and quality standards. This position also requires direct interaction with customers to explain work performed, provide basic equipment usage guidance, and support overall customer satisfaction.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, including experience with troubleshooting communication systems and related hardware.
- Ability to install and manage cabling, wiring, and basic electrical connections in vehicles and facilities.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and clear, professional interaction.
- Basic knowledge of radio frequency or telecommunications equipment is preferred.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and follow established installation procedures.
- Comfort working in varied environments, including vehicles, rooftops, and equipment rooms, with appropriate safety practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed for on-site installations.
