Scott’s Fencing Co. is looking for a Service Technician to join our Albuquerque-area
team. This position works in the field installing, maintaining, and repairing automated
gate and access control systems for residential and commercial customers.
This is a hands-on position that combines mechanical work, basic electrical
troubleshooting, equipment installation, and customer interaction. Previous experience
with automated gates is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who has
mechanical ability, understands basic electrical concepts, and is willing to learn our
systems.
- $20–$25/hour depending on experience

- Perform service calls and installation work at residential and commercial properties
- Install and maintain automated gate operators, access control equipment, and related components
- Inspect equipment and identify mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage problems
- Trace wiring and circuits to locate faults and determine appropriate repairs
- Run conduit, pull wire, and make low-voltage connections
- Dig, trench, and set posts when required for new installations
- Adjust, test, and troubleshoot equipment to make sure systems operate properly
- Complete final testing and inspection before leaving a job site
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and other members of the project team
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
- Document completed work and communicate any additional service or repair needs
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of electrical or low-voltage systems
- Ability to read or learn to read basic wiring diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical work
- Ability to lift, carry, dig, and work on your feet throughout the day
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently in the field
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:
- Automated gates or gate operators
- Access control systems
- Low-voltage electrical work
- Electrical, mechanical, or equipment repair
- Commercial construction
- Security or automation systems
- 24V DC control systems
