RMS is looking to add an experienced full‑time heavy lift crane operator for a project in Santa Teresa, NM.

Experience
  • Current crane operating license (NCCCO) LBC.
  • Experience operating Liebherr LR 1600 with Derrick Boom and Luffing Jib – minimum 5 years.
  • Experience operating Liebherr LR 1700 Main Boom – minimum 5 years.
  • Current New Mexico State License Conventional (Lattice Boom) Class I license preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Must be a member of the International Union Of Operating Engineers or join the union.
Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and the position includes a 7‑day‑a‑week per diem.

Summary

The operator ensures safety first, performs safe lifting of loads, properly sets up the crane, and maintains a customer‑focused approach. The operator follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles and adheres to safety and environmental policies while performing the job task.

Responsibilities
  • Operate complex equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Complete Field Ticket and forward it to the local branch office; if other chargeable equipment was used, record it on the ticket.
  • Complete payroll book daily, recording hours worked and submit it to the local branch office no later than 8:00 a.m. on Mondays.
  • Periodically review assigned crane and other model cranes’ service and operation manuals.
  • Read, interpret, and calculate load percentage using crane owner and operation manual load charts.
  • Program the crane’s computer in the proper set‑up mode and set up the crane on location safely and professionally.
  • Perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of loads.
  • Inspect the crane and complete daily and monthly inspection reports before operating the vehicle; submit the reports to the local branch office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and maintain records.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
