Lead Carpenter
Lead, oversee and participate in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for the construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of facilities/structures and parks; perform the most difficult carpentry and cement-finishing tasks and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential and Supplemental FunctionsEssential functions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Supplemental functions:
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours vocational training in carpentry, plumbing, or welding; and Three (3) years of construction experience.
Additional requirements:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental:
Field and construction site environment; travel from site to site; work around traffic and construction equipment; exposure to fumes, dust, noise and inclement weather conditions. Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, crouching, bending, and climbing for prolonged periods; moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; operating motorized vehicles and equipment.
