About Maintenance at AmazonOperations is at the heart of Amazon’s business. We are known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service. Our buildings deliver tens of thousands of products to hundreds of countries worldwide, every day. As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

We provide lightweight fire‑resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes for your safety!
- You will promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- You will complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation

A day in the lifeYou’ll start each shift with a safety huddle and review of open work orders. From there, it’s hands‑on — performing preventive maintenance on shoe sorters and conveyors, troubleshooting breakdowns in real time, and coordinating with Operations to keep packages flowing. You’ll use electrical and mechanical skills daily, from diagnosing drive faults to replacing divert shoes and calibrating sensors. Every job gets documented in CMMS, and every shift ends with a clear handoff to the next crew.
No two days look the same, and your work directly impacts site performance. We solve problems together, and take pride in keeping ABQ5 running.
You’ll join the Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at ABQ5 in Albuquerque, NM — a sort center where our crew keeps linear sorters, conveyors, and critical facility systems running around the clock. We’re a small, collaborative group of technicians and managers who take ownership of equipment performance and site reliability. Cross‑training is the norm — you’ll build skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
We solve problems together, invest in each other’s growth, and hold ourselves to high safety and quality standards. If you want a team that has your back and pushes you to get better, this is it.
