Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Technician to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will service, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electrical systems; test or install variable frequency drives (VFDs) and PLC’s; perform commercial electrical panel repairs; and repair HVAC electrical equipment. Demonstrate t he ability to troubleshoot specialized industrial equipment, generators, provide emergency power, and perform lighting repairs.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on complex electrical systems, VFDs, shunt trip breakers, motor controls, and HVAC equipment.
- Complete service calls and routine maintenance requiring local travel within the New Mexico service area.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Obtain and maintain required security clearances/access for work in secure facilities.
- Support new construction projects as needed .
- Must be able to read specs, plans, and ladder diagrams.
- Draft estimates and submit for division approval.
- Safely operate a company vehicle to travel to various job sites.
- Submit weekly expense forms, track mileage, and submit timecards.
- Certified equipment operator (Forklift, Telehandler, scissor lift, Backhoe, Skid steer)
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems, VFDs, and HVAC equipment.
- Ability to pass background checks and obtain access to secure facilities.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate a company truck.
- Stan dard work week : 40–50 hours, with requirements for local travel.
To be considered competent, an electrical service tech should be able to:
- Identify and apply correct PPE for the hazard level.
- Perform NFPA 70E arc flash and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Execute maintenance per NFPA 70B and manufacturer guidelines.
- Interpret NEC and AHJ-approved work practices.
- Document and report findings in compliance with EHS protocol.
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
