Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A.
Service Delivery: Responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality, professional social work services to individuals with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities (IDCD) in the ARCA Inter Care Service programs, their families and related community agencies.
1.
Social Work Services with Individuals: Provides social work services with individuals including but not limited to: counseling on social-emotional issues, teaching interpersonal skills, and advocating for human rights.
2.
Social Work Services in Groups: Provides social work services with groups, including but not limited to: training individuals receiving services and staff on issues of dignity, respect, and human rights, meeting with families to resolve issues related to individual eligibility and program requirements.
3.
Social Work Services to Other Agencies: Provides social work services with community agencies, including but not limited to: facilitating education, coordination, and communication with ARCA Inter Care Services and related community programs.
B.
IDT: Acts as Interdisciplinary Team Member (IDT) for all individuals receiving services on caseload and oversees financial benefits and medical status of those individuals.
1.Works in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team and Direct Support Professionals to coordinate services to individuals receiving services through ARCA.
2.Acts as ARCA representative and advocate for individuals receiving services and is the main liaison between the organization and the individuals' families and/or guardians.
C.
Documentation/Reports: Writes comprehensive social histories and updates, contact notes, monthly reports, discharge summaries and other required documentation, including Rights Form and Grievance Form. Completes and corrects case records before Case Record Review.
D.
Financial: Ensures the timely maintenance of funding and entitlement sources for individuals receiving services.
1.Oversees individuals' financial benefits and personal financial accounts.
2.Secures and maintains benefits for individuals receiving services.
3.Is responsible for maintaining program eligibility for individuals on caseload.
4.Ensures that assets of individuals do not exceed benefits limits by doing the following: reports earned income and/or changes in income to financial department, direct care staff, and to applicable outside agencies.
5.Completes required documentation for SSA, IRS, ISD and other external benefit agencies.
6.Works closely with the ARCA financial department and direct support professional staff, as applicable.
7.Recordkeeping:
Is responsible for the submission and maintenance of information in the confidential file of individuals receiving services.
E.
Supports: Makes regular face-to-face contact with individuals receiving services and may provide direct service and transportation for individuals when necessary.
F.
Work Assignments: Completes work assignments in an accurate, effective and timely manner.
G.
Training: Completes all required training within specified time periods and participates in on-going in-service training according to ARCA Policy on Training.
H.
Committee Participation: Actively participates on ARCA committees, teams and task forces as assigned.
I.
Abuse/Neglect/Emergency Situations: Treats individuals served with dignity and respect at all times. As required by law, reports all suspected instances of abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazard, suspicious injury and/or injury of unknown origin to the appropriate authorities in accordance with ARCA policies and procedures.
J.
HIPAA Compliance & Confidentiality: Has full access to Protected Health Information (PHI) to carry out job responsibilities in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ARCA policies and procedures on confidentiality.
Requirements
May occasionally assist with the physical care needs of the people in the Inter Care Services programs. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
