Join the Space Mission Systems (SMS) Rapid Space Capabilities (RSC) portfolio to design, develop, test, and integrate software that emulates the behavior and interfaces of hardware components and systems for the Rocky program. Your work will create a full, all‑software test and integration environment that accelerates development, reduces risk, and ensures the program meets its schedule and milestones.

• Design, develop, test, and integrate software models to emulate hardware components or systems.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to review requirements and specifications for the hardware being emulated.
• Develop, automate, test, integrate, and administer emulation strategies and technologies.
• Create verification plans, test procedures, and test environments; execute procedures and document results.
• Identify, debug, and resolve issues to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
• Advise on software domains related to emulation technologies.
• Establish and update policies, practices, and processes for emulation and virtualized resource management.
• Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to hardware emulation.

• Active Top Secret (TS) U.S. Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility post‑start.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing software test environments, including hardware, software, and network configuration.
• Experience in hardware/software integration, emulation, and/or testing, preferably in a lab environment.
• Foundational knowledge of Computer Science, object‑oriented design, and software patterns.
• Proficiency with at least one of the following programming languages or frameworks:
  Java, C++, Python, JavaScript (React, jQuery UI, Open Layers), Spring Framework, Hibernate.
• Experience with dependency management and automation services (e.g., Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins).
• Experience with cloud‑based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) and familiar with TDD, agile development, Dev Sec Ops , CI/CD.

• 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 3 / Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science with 5+ years of related work experience.
• Level 4 / Bachelor of Science degree with 9+ years of related experience or 13+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Java, C++, Python, JavaScript frameworks, Spring, Hibernate, RDBMS, Mongo
  
  DB, REST, OpenAPI.
• Experience using APIs (SOAP, REST), middleware, and data formats (XML, JSON).
• Strong problem‑solving, hardware/software troubleshooting, and HWIL testing skills.
• Experience with software/hardware emulation for ground systems, control systems, embedded FPGA, low latency deterministic, operator interfaces, control gimbals, ground antennas, optical sensors.

Pay Range – Experienced: $104,550 – $141,450
Pay Range – Senior: $126,650 – $171,350
Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
