Position OverviewSenior Software Engineer to support the Space Mission Systems (SMS) Rapid Space Capabilities (RSC) portfolio, focused on the Rocky program, with location options in Albuquerque, NM;
El Segundo, CA; or Kent, WA.
- Oversee the design, development, and analyses of software systems.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate software requirements and models that meet customer, operational, and performance requirements.
- Oversee completion of software system‑level analyses to identify risk, issues, and opportunities.
- Lead software team to successfully complete code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards.
- Oversee review of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards.
- Research and oversee implementation of current and emerging software technologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Work 100% onsite in Albuquerque, NM, during development, design, review preparation, customer coordination, and closed‑area development activities.
Requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. A clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years of experience in foundational Computer Science knowledge and object‑oriented design and software patterns.
- Experience with systems engineering or software development on space‑based or ground‑based systems.
- Experience with Software Engineering principles including, but not limited to, Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR a Bachelor’s degree and 18+ years of directly related experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.
- Experience with Java, C++, Python, JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, REST, and OpenAPI.
- Experience using dependency management and automation services (e.g., Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins).
- Experience using cloud‑based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with practices such as test‑driven development (TDD), agile software development, Dev Sec Ops , and CI/CD management.
- Experience as a Technical Lead Engineer, Software Lead, Software Architect, and/or Chief Engineer on a complex software development project/program.
- Experience with software for control systems, embedded FPGA, low‑latency deterministic, operator interfaces, and/or control gimbals, ground antennas, optical sensors.
Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Work LocationExpected 100% onsite at the selected location.
TravelMay require travel up to 20% of the time.
Technical AssessmentCode Vue Coding Challenge is required as part of the selection process.

Total RewardsCompetitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off. Pay range: USD $198,050 - $286,350.
