What Your Job Will Be LikePosition: R&D S&E, Computer Science Software Developer. You will work on a dynamic team developing and maintaining software applications used by USNDS Space Flight Systems and Space Ground Systems. Languages include C#, C++, Python, Java, and more.
- Gather requirements, design, and develop software applications
- Conduct testing, maintenance, and enhancement of software
- Write scripts to ingest data from satellite ground systems
Site requirement: due to the nature of the work, ability to work onsite is required.
Salary Range$102,400 - $199,700
* Salary range is estimated; actual salary determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic differentials.
Qualifications We Require- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance
- Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field with independent research project
- Demonstrated software development skills and familiarity with modern practices and tools (e.g., Agile)
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Also, experience sought in:
- Python, C# programming
- Linux and Linux system administration
- Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Version control (Git) in a configuration-controlled environment
- CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins, Git Lab, Git Hub, Docker)
- Testing frameworks (Unit Test, JUnit)
- DOE security clearance (current/active) or ability to obtain a Q clearance
- Software development in C, C++, Java, etc.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required DOE security clearance
The Integrated Data Exploitation & Analysis department focuses on satellite payload monitoring and management, with emphasis on GBD sensors and USNDS data processing, ETL activities, and data analytics. We support system administration for Center 6700 and other USNDS projects.
