DevOps Engineer

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to support a major national laboratory.

We are seeking a skilled Dev Ops Engineer to join our development team responsible for building and operating custom and commercial software solutions for a large user base. The ideal candidate will have expertise in server administration, container orchestration (Open Shift, Kubernetes), backend development with .NET, database management, API development, and frontend frameworks such as Angular. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient software delivery.

• Manage and administer server infrastructure supporting development and production environments.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Open Shift and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with backend and frontend developers to build robust APIs and user interfaces.
• Design and optimize databases to support application needs.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Drive Dev Ops best practices to improve software delivery speed and reliability.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments.

• BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 3 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
• Must be US Citizen
• Candidate must reside the in Albuquerque are as onsite work is required.

• Server administration and infrastructure management.

• Frontend development experience with Angular.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops).
• Strong understanding of Dev Ops principles and practices

• Ability to follow standard change-management and release processes consistently.
• Strong commitment to team collaboration, communication, and transparency.
• Reliable adherence to release plans, including creating and validating rollback plans for safety.
• Habitual and disciplined documentation of code, design decisions, changes, and deployment notes.
• Proven dependability in backup or secondary support roles, ensuring continuity for Angular front-end and .NET API backend work.
• Proactive in surfacing risks, issues, and blockers early.
