Minimum Salary: $2,500.00

Qualifications- ATHLETIC COACHING LICENSE, 7-12
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Must hold or have ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching License from the New Mexico Public Education Department and complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association.
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
- The head coach must have substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and continue to examine new theories and procedures.
- The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
Reports to:
The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.
Supervises:
In several instances, the head coach must advise, coordinate and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal.
To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success. Coach must also demonstrate socially acceptable behaviors, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride.
Must participate in coaching clinics, observations, consultation, and upgrade knowledge and skills.
Work with students, provide practice support and advice for team success against opponents. Teach and enforce rules and regulations. Involves evening and weekend work.
