The Summer Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students on a designated summer bus route to and from campus. This role supports the School’s summer programming by ensuring reliable, timely, and safe transportation while fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for students. The driver operates a 14‑passenger school bus and works collaboratively with Facilities and School staff to support daily operations.

• Safely operate a 14‑passenger school bus along an established summer route
• Transport students to campus in the morning and return them in the afternoon according to the daily schedule
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is safe, clean, and in proper working condition
• Follow all traffic laws, school transportation policies, and safety procedures
• Maintain appropriate student supervision and behavior expectations during transport

• Communicate promptly with Facilities or designated school staff regarding delays, route concerns, or vehicle issues
• Maintain a professional, calm, and student-centered presence while interacting with students and families
• Coordinate daily schedules and needs with school staff as required

• Maintain accurate records related to routes, mileage, or incidents as requested
• Support a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with Bosque School’s mission and values
• Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Bosque School Employee Handbook
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support summer operations

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to safely operate a 14‑passenger bus (CDL not required)
• Prior experience driving children or working in a school or youth‑serving environment preferred
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to safety
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to working with culturally diverse students and contributing to an inclusive community
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Understanding that safety is as important as job completion; flexibility; ability to work closely with students and staff in caring and supportive style
• Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation skills) and interpersonal skills.
