Supervise, plan, coordinate and participate in the deployment of traffic control devices during pre-planned and unplanned special events; assign work activities and projects; coordinate assigned activates with other departments, outside agencies and the general public.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business or a two (2) year technical certificate in office administration;
and
Six (6) years of experience in any combination of the following areas:
- Temporary traffic control
- Construction Zones
- Management
- Parking Operations
To include two (2) years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
Required to work weekends and holidays.
Required to be in an on-call status and work odd hours, split shifts, and working special assignments.
Required American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) training/certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
Environmental:Field environment; exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, moving objects/vehicles, inclement weather conditions; work on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Physical:Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; heavy, moderate or light lifting and carrying; bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling; both hands and legs required, operating motorized equipment and vehicles and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
