Warehouse Worker Job Description

This role operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and related warehouse equipment to safely load and unload semi-trailers, organize and maintain warehouse, cooler, and freezer areas, and supply production lines with materials. You will support efficient order picking, inventory accuracy, and documentation while working on either a day or evening shift in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Load and unload semi-trailers efficiently and safely.
• Put away raw materials and finished goods in designated locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse, including coolers and freezers.
• Complete all required paperwork legibly and in a timely manner.
• Supply production lines with materials as needed to support continuous operations.
• Pick and stage orders accurately using appropriate equipment and tools.
• Utilize equipment to move semi-trailers as required.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities.
• Rotate through various positions within the warehouse department as operational needs require.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve department and company goals.
• Follow all GMP, SOP, HACCP, and SQF rules to support quality and food safety standards.
• Monitor products for quality defects and promptly report issues to the line lead.
• Complete all required quality documentation legibly, accurately, and on time.
• Maintain a clean work area free of hazards and debris.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Experience with order picking and material handling in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to use RF scanners for picking, inventory, and shipping/receiving activities.
• Ability to understand written and spoken English instructions.
• Ability to speak and write in English to complete documentation and communicate with team members.
• Ability to work with pork, dairy, soy, wheat, egg, shellfish, nut products, and fish.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take measurements and perform basic math calculations.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Technical and mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot basic warehouse equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and follow established procedures.
• Commitment to following GMP, SOP, HACCP, and SQF rules for quality and food safety.
• Commitment to following all safety policies and maintaining a clean, hazard-free work area.

• Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with inventory control practices and documentation requirements.
• Comfort working in refrigerated and freezer environments.
• Experience rotating through multiple roles within a warehouse department.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different warehouse functions as needed.

This position works in a warehouse environment that includes coolers and freezers, with regular exposure to cold temperatures. You must be able to work in a freezer for up to 8 hours and be willing to work up to 10 hours of overtime each week. The role operates on structured shifts, including 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Saturday through Wednesday, depending on assignment.

You will regularly use forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
