Two positions. 1 is 1st shift - 6am - 2:30pm and 1 is 2nd shift - 1pm - 9:30pm.
Steel-toe shoes are required (boots or sneaker style is fine).
Excellent attendance is mandatory. Client not sure how long this assignment, but will not rule out that this may be an opportunity for permanent employment after 90 days if they get a good contractor
About the JobThis is a contract position working onsite at a warehousing operation. Uses a computer, scanners and forklift in daily work activities.
Position SummaryThis position is responsible for retrieving, moving, and stacking merchandise. Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product using material handling equipment including forklifts.
Picks and packs orders throughout the warehouse. Documents and maintains inventory, and ensures production area organization and cleanliness.
Maintains equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Uses computer to enter data and to check on product status and enter shipment information, and hand-held scanners. Unload inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations.
Prepares and stages skids for outbound shipments using different carriers.
Performs labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking.
Efficiently stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Efficiently moves product from staging and/or storage areas into outbound trucks and trailers.
If hired permanent, you'll work in a 'hybrid' role, also driving a truck in addition to warehouse duties.
You will be required to pass drug testing and a background investigation for this position, with no felony convictions. Since delivery driving will become part of the job duties if hired permanent, a clean driving record is also required for the past 8 years.
What Experience/Qualifications Do You Need?High school diploma or its equivalent.
Recent forklift skills and warehouse experience.
Forklift and box truck certification if possible.
A great attitude, willingness to be a little flexible as needed.
Clamp, push-pull experience a plus.
Excellent attendance record.
Skills You Must Have:Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and speak English.
Must have the ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with great attention to detail.
Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within specific timeframe given.
Ability to adapt to change in the workplace and shift priorities easily.
Must be able to use proper technique to lift 50 pounds.
Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
