Inventory Control Assistant II

Summary

The Inventory Control Assistant II role is responsible for performing a variety of inventory control activities associated with Logistics and Inventory Control. These activities may include receiving, packaging, distribution & routing, inventory control, and shipping functions.

• Processes incoming materials by verifying part numbers, quantities, and other relevant supplier documentation (packing slips, purchase order, dangerous goods declaration, etc.).
• Processes outbound shipments of material to customers or outside vendors, including packaging items to prevent damage during distribution.
• Delivers materials to correct work areas or internal customers using inbound documentation.
• Performs inventory picks, put-aways, and cycle counts.
• Performs system transactions to record all inventory movement types.
• Processes inbound and outbound dangerous goods in accordance with applicable air and ground regulations.
• Processes excess material.
• Works with and learns from subject matter experts along with direction from their direct supervisor.
• Operates material handling equipment and government vehicles. (requires a valid driver’s license).
• Demonstrates basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Interacts with customers on a limited basis while relying on experienced team members to interact with internal and external customers.
• Provides limited informal leadership, relying on more experienced team members to provide daily direction within the team.

• High School diploma
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
• United States Citizenship
• Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

• Possesses certification in or demonstrates awareness of requirements for Dangerous Goods Shipping per Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49 and International Air Transport Association (IATA)
• Possesses certification in forklift operation
• Demonstrates manufacturing /warehouse experience
• 1 or more years of Inventory Control Experience
