As the Supervisor of Payroll, you will play a critical role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time — every week. This position oversees the full lifecycle of weekly payroll operations across a multi-location, multi-state workforce, supporting both hourly and salaried team members.
This role is more than payroll processing; it’s about leading payroll operations with precision, improving systems and workflows, and serving as the internal expert on Paylocity. You’ll manage complex payroll components including weekly payroll cycles, performance bonuses, incentive programs, commissions, and off‑cycle payments, while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to support a growing organization.

- Have strong experience managing weekly payroll processing in a multi-state environment.
- Have hands‑on experience with Paylocity payroll administration.
- Understand payroll compliance, wage & hour laws, and multi‑state tax regulations.
- Have experience administering bonuses, incentives, commissions, or variable compensation.
- Enjoy leading and mentoring payroll team members.

- Oversaw weekly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states.
- Reviewed payroll audits, variance reports, and exception items prior to payroll submission.
- Administered bonus and incentive payouts tied to operational performance.
- Configured earnings codes and payroll workflows within Paylocity.
- Partnered with Finance to complete payroll reconciliations and month-end close activities.
- Supported HR with compensation updates, onboarding payroll setup, and deductions.
- Helped resolve payroll inquiries from field leadership and employees.
- Identified opportunities to automate manual payroll processes for improved efficiency.
- Supervise end-to-end weekly payroll processing across multiple entities and states.
- Ensure accuracy of hours worked, pay changes, bonuses, and deductions.
- Manage payroll calendars, approval timelines, and deadlines.
- Process off-cycle payments, retro pay adjustments, and variable compensation.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Paylocity.
- Maintain payroll configurations, earnings codes, deductions, and tax settings.
- Support integrations with time‑keeping, HRIS, and benefits systems.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with Paylocity support.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Oversee payroll tax filings and reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Prepare payroll reporting and analytics for Finance leadership.
- Supervise and mentor payroll team members.
- Establish payroll SOPs and training documentation.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Support payroll needs related to growth, acquisitions, or new locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of payroll experience including multi-state payroll processing.
- Experience managing weekly payroll cycles required.
- 2+ years of supervisory or payroll leadership experience.
- Hands‑on Paylocity experience required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
- Experience in high-growth or multi-entity organizations.
- Payroll system implementation or optimization experience.
- Background supporting retail, hospitality, or field operations environments.
This role may be based in [Remote] depending on business needs. Standard business hours apply; however, flexibility may be required to support weekly payroll processing timelines and deadlines.
