Hours:
39 hours per week
Syntech Recruitment are partnering with a specialist manufacturing business in Aldershot to recruit a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their engineering team. The role offers involvement in the build and installation of bespoke machinery both on-site and internationally. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring site reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the facility.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a wide range of machinery.
- Maintain and repair plant machinery and auxiliary equipment across the site.
- Work on equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, sintering furnaces and wire production lines.
- Support the mechanical assembly and build of bespoke welding machines.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of machinery at customer sites globally when required.
- Take ownership of the site-wide maintenance schedule and improve PPM systems.
- Maintain site infrastructure and ensure all plant and auxiliary equipment is fully operational.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, efficiency and uptime.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to prioritise workloads.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
- Strong hands-on mechanical background within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience maintaining plant machinery and auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Experience working with production machinery or industrial equipment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role is desirable.
- Basic electrical knowledge or willingness to learn is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, "hands-on" attitude.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work under pressure.
- Experience working with furnaces or thermal equipment.
- Experience with complex production lines or automated machinery.
- Familiarity with control panels or electrical systems.
- £18-£20 per hour, paid weekly.
- 25 days annual leave.
- 5% pension contribution.
