Lifeguard; Seasonal

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for swimmers, acting as first responder in emergency situations, teaching swimming lessons, enforcing facility rules, interacting with the public, and maintenance of swimming pool and facility.

• Lifeguards patrons in the swimming area.
• Enforces and explains facility rules to patrons.
• Acts as a first responder during emergencies.
• Provides customer service by assisting patrons visiting the facility.
• Maintains and cleans swimming pool and facility.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• Ability to complete American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.
• Ability to complete American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Training.
• Ability to work well with and effectively communicate with patrons and co-workers.

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification, to include CPR, AED, and First Aid Training; or ability to obtain and maintain certification after hire.
• Experience as a lifeguard preferred.
• Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position (walking, stooping, bending, swimming, lifting up to 50 lbs.).

The work is typically performed at and in the pool and in recreation facilities, specifically outdoors, occasionally in cold, hot, or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to inclement weather, noise, dust, and dirt.
