• Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Meet all state and district requirements for employment as a para educator.
• Ability to work effectively and positively with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school and district personnel.
• Willingness to learn and implement instructional strategies and assessment procedures related to English Learners.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurately manage student information and records.
• Basic proficiency with technology and district-supported digital tools.

Reports To: District Assessment and Innovation Lead

Summary: The English Learner (EL) Para educator supports English Learner students in developing the language and academic skills necessary to successfully access grade-level instruction and participate in the school environment. The EL Para educator works collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and district personnel.

• Administer English Learner screenings and other required assessments in accordance with district and state procedures.
• Provide English Learner instruction and support in accordance with students’ Program Services Plans (PSPs).
• Support EL students within general education classrooms and throughout their daily school schedules.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction, accommodations, language development, and student learning needs.
• Prepare instructional materials, resources, and support for EL students.
• Administer the ACCESS assessment, including preparation, scheduling, and testing.
• Maintain appropriate student information, documentation, and confidentiality in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support students, schools, and district programs.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 182 Days – 6.5 Hours

  Classified Hourly - Para educator
