Position Overview

Are you passionate about education and driven to make a difference in the lives of students who need extra academic support? We are seeking a dedicated In-School Tutor to work onsite with students, helping them bridge learning gaps, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

As an essential part of the academic support team, you’ll work closely with students in need of targeted instruction in core subjects like reading, writing, and math. Whether you're clarifying classroom concepts, re-teaching key skills, or celebrating hard-earned progress, your role will have a direct impact on student achievement.

Work Environment

• This is an onsite position working weekdays during school hours at the assigned elementary school within Rapides, LA

• Provide competent and effective educational support for assigned students and subject matter
• Must be confident and capable of communicating and teaching assigned subject-matter on the spot
• Prepare for each instructional session; gather and prepare materials as appropriate including review and understanding of individual student requirements
• Develop relationships and take a vested interest in each student such that the student feels comfortable and the tutor is informed on the learning needs and progress of each student
• Comply with all Studyville objectives, guidelines and procedures regarding student interactions, dress code, and communication expectations
• Maintain daily student records including evaluation and tracking of progress
• Be positive, enthusiastic, and encouraging through all student interaction

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate with students
• Tutoring/teaching experience in K-5 Literacy/ELA
• Reliable transportation to tutor on-site at schools throughout the Rapides District
• Can pass a Background check and fingerprints
• Bachelor's Degree preferred

Availability:

• THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION THAT TAKES PLACE IN SCHOOLS DURING THE DAY
• Must have daytime availability M-F
• Shifts can range from 3 to 8 hours (depending on the assigned school), a minimum of 3 days a week is required at each school (9 hours/week minimum, increased hours if working at more than one school). Possibility to stack tutoring at more than one school for additional hours.
