Civil Engineer

Job Overview

Civil/Structural Engineering for high voltage structures in substation and switchyards.

• Design of substation structures, foundations, civil grading of substation sites
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• Must have successfully completed or be scheduled to complete the FE / EIT exam within the next nine (9) months.
• Knowledge of shallow and deep foundation calculations and theory
• Must have experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Mathcad, STAAD Pro, LPile, and RISA Foot.
• Experience preparing and reviewing storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) preferred
• Site layout, grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control experience preferred
• Knowledge of preparing hydrology and hydraulic calculations
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.
• Must have excellent skills in the following areas: documentation, organization, communication, and problem-solving
• Must be able to multi-task and manage workload with minimal supervision
• Must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, schedule-driven department
