Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Days)

Alexandria, Louisiana

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 13-Week Assignment | Onsite

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation.

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing setting.
• Ability to float to other units when needed.
• Availability to work 3 weekends per 6-week schedule; no on-call requirement.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1 in a similar clinical setting.

• Immediate start available for a 13-week travel contract with a consistent day shift schedule.
• Opportunity to expand clinical experience in a Medical/Surgical environment with a supportive care team.
