Travel RN – Telemetry (Days)

Alexandria, Louisiana

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned telemetry patients.
• Care for patients presenting with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow; manage cardiac drips as appropriate per protocol.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.

• Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
• BLS certification required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS certification required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
• Epic EMR experience required.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience caring for cardiac patients including management of cardiac drips.

• Opportunity to work in a dynamic telemetry unit with a diverse cardiac patient population, with temp-to-perm conversion possible for the right candidate.
