Description:
An offer has been made and will remain open until accepted. Candidates must have 1-2 years of nursing experience and at least 6 months of telemetry experience. The shift is nights from 7 PM to 7 AM. Type of patients on the unit include cardiac and telemetry. This is not a stepdown unit. There is a possibility of temp-to-perm. Weekend requirement is every other weekend.
There are no on-call requirements. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing. The competent nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. They provide routine and complex care, focusing on long-range goals or plans. The nurse continues to develop skills to manage contingencies of clinical nursing.
They make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. The nurse meets expectations of applicable competencies, providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. They address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Using appropriate protocols, the nurse administers medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
They document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. The nurse assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. They identify issues and resources to support care. Education and skills required include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred. One year of experience in the related nursing specialty is preferred. All newly hired experienced RNs must complete required onboarding within the first 30 days of hire.
Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
