Job Overview

- Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice and company policies.
- Ensure physicians’ orders are legible, transcribed appropriately.
- Assess patients’ status continuously and document pertinent information.
- Notify physicians of significant status changes such as detox difficulties, medical emergencies, medication responses, and related challenges.
- Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission and tailor them to assessed needs.
- Utilize universal precautions in direct patient care.
- Administer medications accurately per orders.
- Document controlled‑substance medication administration on required forms.
- Process admissions and discharges efficiently and accurately.
- Build therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries and rational detachment.
- Coordinate unit activities as directed.
- Communicate therapeutically with patients, visitors, co‑workers, and other inpatient treatment staff.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license as required by state, or eligible to practice per state requirements.
- One year of nursing experience; psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance‑use nursing a plus.
- CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
