Job Summary

Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) – Oncology Telemetry LPN Resident

Location:

Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana

Schedule:

Full Time, Day Shift (7a-7p), Rotating Weekends

Shift support:
Full float pool, modern technology, ongoing clinical education, robust supply chain.

• Providing focused nursing care for patients with complex needs by administering medications, managing lines or drains, and assisting with interventions such as cardiac monitoring or respiratory support.
• Observing patients for subtle changes in status—heart rhythm, oxygen levels, neurological signs—and escalating concerns promptly.
• Documenting timely, accurate updates to support effective care coordination in a high‑acuity environment.
• Helping patients and families understand conditions and recovery steps with clarity and comfort.
• Collaborating with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and guide the transition from intensive care toward recovery.

• Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
• Vocational school graduate.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
