Travel RN – Medical / Surgical (Days)

Alexandria, Louisiana

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Onsite | 13-Week Assignment | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Weekends may be required based on scheduling need

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given accurately and thoroughly
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation

• Active RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty
• Ability to practice independently in a medical/surgical or similar clinical setting

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with post-surgical patient populations including orthopedics, general surgery, and neurology
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system

• Opportunity to work with a diverse post-surgical patient population in a dynamic inpatient setting
• Temp-to-permanent conversion is a possibility for the right candidate
