American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least one prior travel assignment and a compact or LA RN license.

• Acute Med/Surg unit focused on post-surgical patients including orthopedic and general surgery cases, with a neuro patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling needs
• Floating to other units is a potential requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• EPIC EMR experience is a plus but not required

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact license required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of experience in Med/Surg or related specialty preferred

• Provide nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Educate patients and family members on care needs and available resources
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment to be considered
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
• Temp-to-perm conversion may be a possibility
