American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN
- Telemetry for a Cardiovascular IMC unit requiring ACLS certification and telemetry nursing experience.
- Work in the IMC Cardiovascular unit of a hospital, caring for cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment, full-time
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Active RN license in state of employment or compact (LA or compact license accepted)
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA required
- BSN preferred
- 1 year of experience in telemetry or related nursing specialty preferred
- Provide nursing care using the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Educate patients and family members on care needs and available resources
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation
- Must complete New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
- Ceil blue scrubs required as part of dress code
- Holiday coverage requirements apply
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates may be considered only when the position specifies local acceptance
- Previous CHRISTUS Health employees (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation across the entire health system before being eligible for a travel assignment
- First-time travelers may be considered
