American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TNCC and de-escalation certifications in a high-acuity, non-trauma-designated unit.
Details- Emergency Care unit in a hospital setting
- High-acuity patient population including strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases
- Some trauma cases seen, though unit is not trauma-designated
- Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment
- Onsite security available 24/7
- Active RN license (LA state or compact) required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and De-Escalation (all via AHA where applicable)
- 1 year of experience in Emergency Department nursing preferred
- BSN preferred
- Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
- New hires are precepted by a designated staff member with Emergency Department-specific competency validation
- Possibility of temp-to-perm conversion
- Candidates previously employed by any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
