American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department MIDS shift role requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and De-Escalation certifications along with LA or compact RN licensure.

• Emergency Care unit within a hospital setting
• Very high acuity patient population including strokes, cardiovascular, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases
• Some trauma cases seen, though unit is not trauma designated
• Onsite security available 24/7
• MIDS shift schedule from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
• Full-time, 13-week assignment

• Active RN License in state of employment or compact, LA license accepted
• BLS certification via AHA required
• ACLS certification via AHA required
• PALS certification via AHA required
• TNCC certification required
• De-Escalation certification required
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• BSN preferred

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Newly hired experienced RNs attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with completion of organizational and Emergency Department-specific competency validations
• Annual competency verification requirements must be completed
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Previous CHRISTUS facility employees must have a 6-month separation period across the entire CHRISTUS Health System before being eligible for a travel assignment
